Advanced Distribution Design Tool Available as a Plug-In for AutoCAD Map3D

November 15, 2016

Las Vegas, NV – Spatial Business Systems (SBS) announced the general availability of Automated Utility Design™ (AUD) 2018 at Autodesk University in Las Vegas. The AUD product is a new SBS developed offering based on the strategic alliance between SBS and Autodesk that was announced last month. Through the alliance, SBS is now responsible for future development, support and licensing of the AutoCAD Utility Design software. The SBS Automated Utility Design (AUD) 2018 product will be available through SBS on February 1, 2017.

The SBS AUD 2018 product will be offered as a plug-in for AutoCAD Map3D and will retain the core features that have made the product an industry-leading design tool for electric and gas distribution utilities. These include:

  • 3D model-based design
  • Configurable rules, workflows and standards
  • Rules-based engineering analysis
  • Advanced integration with data management and GIS solutions

Future developments for SBS AUD are already in planning and will be focused on improved design throughput, advanced integration support and an overall reduction in implementation and support costs. Further information can be found on the SpatialBiz Blog, www.spatialbiz.co.

Prior to the SBS official release of AUD 2018, a beta program will be offered to a select set of customers starting in November. Those organizations interested in participating in the SBS AUD beta program should contact SBS via the Peer Utility Group, or send an email to AUDsupport@spatialbiz.comm.
