Dennis Beck
President and CEO
Dennis Beck is a co-founder of Spatial Business Systems. He has more than 20 years of experience in geospatial systems implementation, software systems consultancy, information technology business analysis, and systems engineering. Specialized in the use of geospatial (GIS) technologies to solve advanced business problems, Dennis has provided services in support of the utility, telecommunications, construction, environmental and US government business sectors.
Prior to forming Spatial Business Systems, Dennis was the Vice President of Global Business Development for GE Network Solutions. In this role he was responsible for managing acquisition activity and expanding the use of GE Smallworld technologies to government and transportation markets. Dennis also oversaw the technical delivery of geospatial technologies to customers in the utility and telecommunications market segments.
Prior to his role at GE and Smallworld Systems, Dennis was the product manager for IBM’s GFIS suite of geospatial products. Dennis has a BS in Engineering from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dennis Beck is a familiar name in the geospatial industry. He is active in representing the geospatial technology industry, having delivered numerous presentations, interviews and trade publication articles. He currently serves as Vice-chair of the Oracle Spatial Special Interest Group and is a member of the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA).
